If you ask my children what I do, they will tell you that I “help people.” In my past, I worked as a paperboy, sandwich maker, college recruiter, short order cook at the beach, substitute teacher, handyman, specialty gift store manager, high school soccer coach, chocolatier, extern at City Hall, and an intern for a Judge. I have always helped people. People feel comfortable with me assisting them…whether it be in providing advice, teaching, support, or something to eat. As an attorney this should not change. I am available to listen, answer questions, and help.

This is a picture of my Grandfather, Leland Marcus, taken in 1940 in his cabin in the mountains near Los Angeles. He worked for the telephone company for 45 years. He was married for 65 years to his Junior High sweetheart, Alma. He drank his coffee black and he never owned a cell phone. He was happy. Grandpa’s life was marked by devout loyalty, unwavering honesty, and a tenacious work ethic…traits he passed on to my father and me. My job is to help people…help them during a time marked by the passing of someone close to them. I understand.
