US FlagTomorrow, our country will celebrate Veteran’s Day…a day to thank and remember those who have served in any of the branches of our military. Today, our church recognized and applauded the 20 or so Veterans who were present at the service. It was a lengthy applause…appropriately so.

My Dad is a veteran. He was drafted during the Vietnam War when he and my Mom were newlyweds. It was a troubling letter for them to accept. However, in retrospect, my Dad claims this call to service was one of the best things to happen to him. Despite the fact that he and my Mom had to be separated for a considerable length of time, he was able to develop a faith on God that would sustain him in his service and provide him the foundation for building a successful marriage and family.

To my Dad and all of the veterans…thank you. I am appreciative for your sacrifice and service. God Bless America.
